The Effects of Physical Activity on Mental Health November 29th 2017
Dr. Jacob Meyer, an exercise psychologist in Department of Kinesiology, spoke on the effects physical activity has on your mental wellbeing. Dr. Meyer discussed the subjective response acute aerobic and anaerobic exercise have on ratings of perceived energy. He also spent a good amount of time discussing his upcoming research into the effects physical activity has on chronic depression and comorbidities like energy and pain. Dr. Meyer is going to be conducting some very interesting studies in the coming years and we are glad he is with us at Iowa State!
