Greenhills retirement home
Studies have shown that regular physical activity among older adults has proven to reduce healthcare costs and lower their risks for chronic diseases. From now until the end of the semester you have the chance to take part in seated exercise activities with the elderly at Green Hills Retirement Home on Mondays and Fridays at 9:45am and/or 11:00am.Your responsibilities include participating in the exercises that are shown on a TV with any of the residents that attend. If you are interested in this unique opportunity, here's what you need to do:
1. Complete the Code of Conduct for Activities involving Senior Citizens. This is a short manual for behaviors to remember when working with older adults.
2. Visit the sign up page and select which dates and times work for you. All the dates from now till December are shown so you are able to plan ahead. Click the link or the button below.
3. Complete the online background check. Once you have filled out the Code of Conduct you will receive an email a few days later directly from the Office of Risk Management with instructions on how to complete the form.
The first time you visit, please go to the front desk and ask for directions to Brett's office. She will direct you to the exercise area and take your contact information. If you have any questions about this ongoing volunteer opportunity, please contact the Senior Committee Leaders KayLynn Bland ([email protected]) or Kaitlyn Hennings([email protected])
